“My family (myself, my wife, and our two daughters aged 4 and 13) went to the Galapagos islands with Toucanto in late November 2022. We have traveled regularly with our children since they were very little all over the world. Having never signed up for a tour or event before, we didn’t know exactly what to expect, though we looked forward to camaraderie with other families and children. Our trip to the Galapagos stands out as one of our favorite trips we have taken. James and the Toucanto crew clearly care deeply and spend a lot of time and thought to plan the various experiences in which we had the opportunity to partake. We thoroughly enjoyed each day, and more-so, felt more connected to the local community, Ecuador, the islands and wildlife. In addition to some amazing snorkeling experiences, day trips to other islands, and spending time with Galapagos tortoises, we had some experiences that are not typical tourist activities. Visiting a local veterinarian office and learning how they are helping manage the balance between pets and wildlife on the islands, taking Spanish lessons (my wife and I, as well as our children) at the local language school, and some off-the-beaten-path experiences (Casa de los Suenos among others) are things we likely wouldn’t have encountered on our own. There were more activities in a day than we would have planned on our own, however there was nothing that we would have wanted to miss! Show up with an open mind and adventurous spirit and I believe you will enjoy any trip with Toucanto.”
