People often ask us: ‘Why do you run your program in November?’
The answer is that we think that November is one of the best times to visit the Galápagos Islands for several reasons:
Firstly, it is a great time for birdwatching. November marks the start of the breeding season for several bird species, including the famous Blue-footed Boobies. Watching their courtship dances and nesting behaviors is an amazing experience.
Secondly, the waters around the Galápagos Islands are warmer in November, making it an excellent time for snorkeling and diving. The warmer waters attract a variety of marine life, including sea turtles, rays, and sharks.
Thirdly, November is a less busy time to visit compared to the peak season of December to January. The islands are less crowded, allowing for a more relaxed and personalized experience.
Fourthly, the landscape is lush and green in November, following the rainy season in the preceding months. This makes for beautiful scenery and great opportunities for hiking and exploring the islands.
Lastly, November is a great time for sea lion watching. Pups are born in August, and by November they are already quite active and playful, providing a fun and entertaining experience for visitors.
In short, November offers great birdwatching, warm waters for snorkeling and diving, a less crowded experience, lush scenery for hiking, and playful sea lion watching. These reasons, among others, make November a great time to visit the Galápagos Islands, so why not join us this year?
